Release 4.10

General

  • Performance improvements for large systems
  • Enhancement of the search function in e-mail input fields
  • The listing of modules that are available in the installation in About EnEffCo has been updated.
  • Various Bugfixes

Analysis

  • Display values of the summands in stacked columns and areas
In time series in which several series are displayed as stacked columns or areas, the total sum can now be displayed in the diagram.
  • User friendliness

    • Enhancement of the formatting of labels in mean value diagrams
    • On the analysis level, the attributes of the system can now be easily viewed in the familiar display under the system information tab.

Definition

  • Renaming datapoints
Until now, it has not been easy to rename datapoints, as references to datapoints, e.g. in formulas or ad hoc datapoints in analyses, are not changed automatically. Some dependencies would therefore be lost when renaming. This is now easily possible in the new version and the datapoint structure has become much more adaptable to operational changes!
  • Management of user rights in EnEffCo via LDAP
The user groups in LDAP can now be automatically synchronised with the user groups in EnEffCo. By mapping the EnEffCo user groups to LDAP groups, user management can be carried out completely via LDAP.
  • Data sources

    • Importing time zones
Database, Web API, streaming and data lake data sources can now also read time zones. This can be used for automatic data point generation so that your data is available as quickly as possible.
    • Performance optimisation on Streaming and Web API data sources
    • Enhancement of error handling of M-Bus, Modbus and OPC UA data sources
  • Settings for aggregation levels can be managed by users
Users can be given the right to manage additional time intervals for datapoints. The additional time intervals were introduced with EnEffCo version 4.5 and lead to a significant performance gain in calculations that aggregate datapoint values. For more information, see the manual.
  • Fill in data gaps with zeros
Data gaps in base datapoints can now be filled with zeros. This option makes it possible to calculate consistent totals and mean values even with data gaps.
  • Manual CSV import: Plausibility check of data on import
As with manual data entry, the import data can now also be checked for time stamps from the future during manual CSV import in order to prevent implausible data from being incorporated into the database.
  • Description field for interpolation tables
Interpolation tables have been provided with a description field so that their purpose can be explained in more detail. One- or two-dimensional interpolation tables can be analysed in calculated datapoints or ad hoc datapoints using a formula. They are suitable, e.g. for making characteristic profiles available in EnEffCo.
  • User friendliness

    • The results dialogues for batch processing have been standardised.
    • Datapoints: The UI of the calculation formula has been simplified.
    • Measurement forms can now be edited, even if they are in use.
  • For your information: In attribute groups, the function Local attribute names is now activated by default, i.e. attribute names can be used several times across groups, but only once per group.

Module Exporter

  • Time delay for data export in schedule mode
In data exports that are operated in schedule mode, a delay in the export time can now be set. This allows you to wait for delayed data. Furthermore, the export time can be set more precisely: An hourly export can now be set up on the half hour or a daily export at 10:00.

Module Tenants

  • Tenants manage their own templates
Previously, there was only a global set of analysis templates that all users and tenants could use. With this extension, all tenants now create and manage their own template sets. Templates can be exchanged between tenants. Thus, tenants can tailor their to their individual requirements.

Module Languages

  • Traditional Chinese

Release 4.9

General

  • Various Bugfixes
  • The listing of modules has been updated.

Analysis

  • Diashows
It’s Showtime: You can now compile your evaluations into diashows and transfer them to other devices with network access without logging in. You can set how long an analysis is shown and – most importantly – ensure smooth transitions. The latest status of the analyses is displayed at all times.
  • Display the model details of a statistical comparison value in dashboards and reports
You can now embed the model details table of a statistical comparison value in dashboards and reports. The element can be formatted so that only the relevant quantities are displayed.
  • Report approval by multiple users
Now multiple users can be specified to review and approve a report. In addition, the email for report approval has been revised so that it is clearer to the recipients which steps have to be taken.
  • Comment on analyses
All analyses can now be commented on, whereby the comment is displayed in the search for analyses.
  • User-friendliness
    • Traffic lights, tachometers and bars were designed to view expenses, target values, etc,, but they are also applied to show efficiencies or the achievement of a production target. This can now also be named in the legend.
    • In tabular representations of time series, a code column can now be displayed.
    • In the scatter diagram you have the possibility to calculate and display a trend line. In addition, the coefficient of determination R² is now also displayed providing quantitative evidence of the correlation of the data.

Definition

  • Data sources
    • Apache Kafka Interface
EnEffCo now also supports the connection of streaming data via the Apache Kafka Consumer API. With Apache Kafka, large amounts of transaction data of complex systems can be processed and distributed to other applications. This strengthens EnEffCo’s ability to integrate into modern corporate IT structures.
    • Plausibility check of the time stamps
Interfaces can provide incorrect timestamps: it has already happened that timestamps for the year 2100 were included in EnEffCo. This then led to a data gap that was closed by interpolation. The result was an immense computational load! To avoid this, the plausibility check was implemented, discarding data with a timestamp from a definable day in the future.
    • Assign a raw data profile during import
Web API, database and streaming data sources (IBM MQ and Apache Kafka) can now read in raw data profiles from the import data and assign them to the data points already during import. Using an automatic data point generation, the data is then available to you as quickly as possible.
    • Web API, database and MQ/Kafka data sources can dynamically read raw datapoints from columns (already possible with CSV)
In the case where raw data points are to be read in from columns, each column previously had to be defined manually. The set-up was thus time-consuming and the maintenance effort high. With the new option “first named column” this can be set up easily and with low maintenance! The option also exists in the CSV data source.
  • Base data point monitoring registers data gaps also in the interpolation interval
Basic data points can correct e.g. zero values or hanging counters by means of interpolation. However, it was not possible to check for data gaps in the interpolation interval because it was not initially registered as a data gap. The monitoring now evaluates the interpolation attempt as a data gap.
  • Export of the comparison value list with scheduled tasks
With scheduled tasks, you can automatically perform various repetitive tasks at an individual time, such as exporting a data point list as a backup or documentation. Now you can also select comparison values.
  • User management
    • Batch processing for user rights
User rights are assigned via the user groups. The user groups can now also be batch processed as Excel or CSV files.
    • Additional basic information can now be viewed in the list of user accounts.
    • A meter exchange is recorded in the raw data point. To do so, the right “Manage meter exchange at the raw data point” is now required.
  • All data point comments are collected at the definition level and can be edited there. This is now also possible by batch processing!
  • The maximum permissible length of raw data point and data point codes has been increased from 100 to 300 characters.

Logbook

  • Automatic deletion of old error messages
With complex applications, some error messages can accumulate in the logbook and limit the performance of the system. Now you can set that old error messages are to be deleted. The deletion is started automatically after the update, whereby messages that were still current up to 150 days ago are deleted.

Module Sankey

  • Easier definition of measurement forms
Measurement forms are used in various parts of EnEffCo. Previously, a measurement form had to be fully defined; now only the information required for the respective purpose has to be entered.
  • Extension of the undo and redo actions

Module Tenants

  • Multiple tenants per user
A user can now be assigned to several tenants. This simplifies user administration: Previously, a separate tenant had to be created for each role that works across systems. With the new option, a user is assigned a main client, which defines the primary system, and any number of secondary clients.

Module Exporter

  • The database exporter has been extensively enhanced:
    • Missing columns in the target table are now created automatically, and no columns are deleted. This makes set-up and maintenance much easier!
    • More datapoint information can be exported:
      • Further basic information
      • In case of base data points: basic information of the currently referenced raw data points
      • All attributes, whereas the columns are automatically generated and named according to the attribute code.
    • A simplified view now exists for the case that only the base data of the data points are to be exported.
  • Data export definitions can now be cloned.

Release 4.8

General

  • Various Bugfixes
  • The demands on EnEffCo are continuously increasing; also in this release we have continued to work on performance, e.g.:
    • Ad-hoc calculations are loaded faster in the logbook.
    • The reset mechanism for changes to data point definitions has been optimised.
    • Traffic lights, tachometers and bars are updated more efficiently in dashboards.”
  • Improvements in user-friendliness, e.g.:
    • Changes in data point units are updated in analyses.
    • Quantity type “Status”: Changeover of the temporal aggregation to “Recalculate from input data”, so that e.g. key figures with the unit % are directly calculated correctly (weighted average).

Analysis

  • Gather your favourites all in one place: Now, you can collect and sort analyses, reports and systems into your individual Favourites tab. This way you can keep track of your work and navigate faster to your most important jobs.
  • Until now, comparative values could be displayed on dashboards with tachometers and traffic lights. Another form of presentation has now been added: Bars! These are more compact, so that when arranged one below the other, a quick insight into the monitored system is achieved.
  • In heat maps only individual months could be displayed. From now on, any number of intervals can be shown, as well as the interval types quarters and years.

Definition

  • Data sources
    • Tabular documentation of the data sources can be easily exported as HTML for your own documentation. This is very helpful, for example, when migrating to a new server.
    • The M-Bus protocol has been extended to read in datagrams with manufacturer-specific data blocks. EnEffCo has so far only processed the first datagram. LVAR data fields provide the information on how the subsequent blocks are to be processed.
    • Utility data are often delivered in a special format: the data point code cannot be found in the column of the measured value. Previously, a new data source then had to be set up for each datapoint in order to import it – a major project if there are 100 or more sites! With a simple extension of the CSV/Excel data source, this is now possible with a single data source.
    • The Web API data source in multiple execution mode can supply many raw datapoints with data – with one limitation: Until now, a Web API query could only be generated with the code or import name of a raw datapoint. If the API query needs to be defined by multiple parameters, e.g. time period, unit and unit channel, then a separate data source had to be created for each combination. With this extension, individual queries can be generated from the raw datapoint attributes so that a data source can be used much more flexibly.
  • You can already view and edit all comments on datapoints and systems at the definition level.
    • This is now also possible by batch processing.
    • Furthermore, data source comments can be created, which are visualised for all dependent base datapoints. This makes it easy to inform about the status of the source in a time period in analyses.
  • The download of the raw datapoint list has been extended by the base datapoint column. Thus you can easily get an overview of the dependencies in Excel. However, changes in this column are not possible.

Module Sankey

  • A legend can now be displayed in Sankey diagrams.
  • Just like the other analyses, the Sankey diagram can be printed as pdf file.
  • From now on the Sankey live-view will will keep you up to date: the values are continuously updated.

Module Languages

  • The EnEffCo user base is becoming more and more international and new languages are being added, Polish is now available!

Module Smart Query

  • The datapoint selection of a Smart Query Table can now be specified by an individual datapoint list, which can be created simply by drag & drop. This means that spreadsheets can be created quickly without having to structure and contextualise the data beforehand using attributes.
  • In addition, in the column selection it is now possible to access any datapoints that are not covered by the data selection. Here again, an individual list can be created. This is useful if, for example, a global price datapoint is to be used for calculations.
  • Parent system information can now be queried in the system context.
  • Improved user-friendliness, such as fixation of the 1st row so that it can always be seen when scrolling.

Release 4.7

General

  • Several bug fixes: In the last development phase, we focused on fixing bugs in EnEffCo and in the Modules.

Analysis

  • Legend and/ or data point qualities can be displayed as stand-alone by hiding the chart. In this way, reports and dashboards can be kept lean by displaying the legend or data quality only in one tile.
  • Time series can now be displayed as areas besides the previously available stack areas: The area between 0-line and line is filled up. (Note: The previous series type Area has been renamed Stack Area).

Definition

  • All associated raw data values can be deleted from the raw data profile. This simplifies the setup and testing of raw datapoints, as well as the correction of an erroneous dataset.
  • As powerful as attributes with historisation are, their presentation has been quite bulky until now. We have simplified this: The history is shown when required.
  • Related documents can also be stored in systems. Now you can control which user groups may upload files here.
  • Base datapoints can now be defined with larger base times: day, week, month, quarter and year. This enables more efficient data management and thus better performance.
  • Calculated datapoints without reference to another datapoint have so far calculated ahead for whole days, at least for the current day. Now the precalculation can also be done only up to the current time.
  • The base datapoint monitoring e-mail has been overhauled: You now receive the notifications in clear tables.
  • Data sources
    • In the data source list view, further basic information and data source attributes can be displayed.
    • Web API, database and DataLake data sources work according to a predefined clock. To facilitate setup and testing, the “Run Now” function has been implemented. Furthermore, additional time periods have been added.
    • M-Bus: The Value Information Field (VIF identifier) contains information on the unit and multiplier of the transmitted value. Some meters output it as plain text in the datagram. This can now be read in with EnEffCo.
    • Gossen Metrawatt GMC Type11: Due to the firmware update to version 2.0 there has been a change in the structure of the provided data. The devices are now automatically recognised and the data is read in accordingly. With the connection test you can query the device version.
  • Formula-Editor
    • Further trigonometric functions are now available: tan, cosh, sinh, tanh, acos, asin, atan and atan2. The extension has become necessary for an interesting use case of statistical system monitoring: the influence of the wind should be taken into account. To obtain clean statistics, the wind direction must be entered as a continuous function, which is achieved by transformation into polar coordinates.
    • With the firstAvail-function, the first available data from several datapoints is taken. Thereby, data gaps are also filled. This is avoided with the continue-function: the actual datapoint is taken until no more data is available, then the firstAvail-principle applies again. This can be used, for example, to conveniently combine weather data and forecasts in one datapoint.
  • Manual Data Entry
    • Despite all automation, manual data entry is still a necessary means of data maintenance. Particularly in complex inventories, data from the past can be changed unintentionally. Manual data entry in EnEffCo supports you in maintaining the integrity of your data: You may only allow inputs that have no influence on your data up to a variable effective date. A transition period can be granted.
    • A summary of the results of the data input makes it easier for you to understand which of the inputs were successful and where corrections need to be made.

Logbook

  • The applications with EnEffCo are becoming more and more data-intensive – within 10 years on the market, a lot has happened and accumulated! The loading behaviour of the logbook has been optimised in order to continue working smoothly with large data sets.

Module Action Management

  • Actions can now be easily multiplied using the cloning function.

Module Languages

  • Chinese

Module Smart Query

  • Multilingual column titles can now be defined.

Release 4.6

General

  • Various Bugfixes
  • Performance optimisation and extensions for performance analysis of data points

Analysis

  • The data point info pop-up has received a significant enhancement: Data point dependencies can be broken down and displayed using a drill down and a formula tree. Even complex concepts can be explored in this way. The pop-up is also available on the definition level.
  • In heatmaps, a user-defined colour scale range can be applied, so that a display of e.g. monthly comparisons is possible.
  • The report draft is updated each time it is opened so that the analyses can be viewed in their current state. Since updating reports can take a long time, the process can be skipped and started manually if needed.

Definition

  • Measurement units and forms can now be edited and transferred between installations via Excel/CSV batch processing.
  • System monitoring: Evaluation parameters for analysing and evaluating the linear regression model according to the IPMVP standard were added: T-statistics and P-values can be used to evaluate the weight of influencing parameters.
  • Data entry forms for the maintenance of system attributes can now be created. An individual, cross-system set of attributes can be selected allowing you to keep your most important attributes up to date quickly and easily. The feature replaces the previous process of exporting, editing and importing by batch processing. The function is particularly useful in combination with the use of Smart Charts and Smart Queries.
  • Data loss notifications can be made more informative by specifying raw data point attributes and values so that data failures can be found and resolved more quickly.
  • Data sources
    • A new reading procedure is available for OPC UA: Subscriptions or callbacks
    • Stabilisation of MQ interface operation through EnEffCo-side queue restriction
  • With the function tQuantileMov, data points can now be analysed in terms of relative or absolute quantiles on a rolling time basis.
  • In the raw data point list, for M-Bus raw data points, primary resp. secondary addresses can now be displayed.

Logbook

  • All e-mails that EnEffCo should send are recorded with status information in the e-mail log. The user right “Monitor e-mail sending” must be activated first.
  • The list of data losses has become more informative: Raw data point attributes, as well as the data failure group, can now be displayed in optional columns.
  • The raw data point list as well as the values of individual raw data points can be downloaded as CSV and now also as Excel.

Module Sankey

  • Sankey diagrams can now also be embedded in reports and dashboards. This required a major infrastructure change in the EnEffCo backend, which we were able to accomplish with this release. In the course of the implementation, further functions were implemented, such as the display of previews of Sankey analyses.
  • Bugfixes and Optimizations

Module Smart Query

  • The Smart Query Table now allows comparative data point values as additional columns. Thus, for example, the current annual values can be compared with the previous year’s values and be used in calculations with other values of the table.
  • In a Smart Query Table, the formula structure of the queried data points can be displayed: at the touch of a button, the formula trees of all data points are attached to the SQT. Thereby, the computed results are easier to understand. Additional information on comments, manual corrections and data qualities can also be displayed.
  • Various extensions for raw data selection and the logic of comparison operations

Module Exporter

  • The WebAPI exporter can now export data records block by block. EnEffCo can thus be integrated into data processing chains in a resource-friendly way.
  • EnEffCo can now export values of data points via OPC UA to an OPC UA server. In this way, e.g. control specifications can be transferred to third-party systems in order to increase system efficiency.

Module EnEffCo Web API

  • Smart Process data points and comparison values can be accessed via the data point endpoints.
  • Production data points and production raw data points can be obtained via their own endpoints.

Module Smart Process Editor

  • The import and export of Smart Process Definitions is now possible. The feature allows the transfer between EnEffCo installations, whereby the import of a definition from an older EnEffCo version is guaranteed.

Module Tenants

  • The tenant context for the production of a report can be viewed and adjusted.

Release 4.5

General

  • Various Bugfixes
  • Performance: Aggregating many values over large time periods is particularly likely to result in long loading times. For accelerated data access, multiple aggregation levels are stored in the database, e.g. in the time steps 15m, 60m, day and month. The time steps are configured centrally; if required, individual time steps can also be specified for each data point, so that frequently requested data can be displayed even faster. The initial calculation of the objects requires a lot of computing power, therefore Ökotec takes care of the activation and configuration. Simply contact your project manager!

Analysis

  • Templates
    • Reports from templates now automatically synchronize with their template when opened and just before mailing, to always be up to date. The email distribution list can be excluded if it is desired to keep the change.
    • Further extensions of the data binding of evaluation templates: Binding of production data points as binding type Attribute group and their individual products as influencing parameters with the binding type Comparison value.
    • The user right “Manage analysis templates” has been added: Only users with this right can view, edit, create and remove analysis templates.
    • Note: Clients cannot create their own analysis templates, but can use existing ones.
  • Adhoc data points can now also be used in heatmap, scatter plot and as data point placeholders in texts.
  • The calculation of totals rows in tables has been extended by another method: the totals are calculated with row weights.

    • Individual user attributes for categorization of users
    • Display the user list using an individual column selection including the user attributes
    • Automatic synchronization of attributes via OIDC during login
    • Regular synchronization of attributes via LDAP also without logging in
    • Notification e-mail to a user group when selected attribute fields are changed on a user (regardless of who made the change: EnEffCo user, LDAP, OIDC).
  • Manual Data Sources / Manual Data Input
    • Data outage emails can now be created individually with dynamic text blocks. In addition, the input list of the affected data points and other relevant documents can be attached. This way, the problem can be solved quickly!
    • The e-mail notification on data failure restarts when a new input period starts and the previous one has not been dealt with.
    • The check for data loss became more robust: the timing of the check is based on the accuracy of the input timestamp; for example, if a date without time is entered, then the check is only performed on a daily basis.
  • Data sources: Various extensions and optimizations to M-Bus
  • Status profile: The status code can be taken into account while calculating the base data point value (raw data rows are ignored).
  • Base data points can now handle datasets that are solely defined by an end timestamp and a fixed interval. This often occurs e.g. with load curves of distributors.
  • The raw data profile can now generate the data point title from a template, just as the data point code. The title can be formed from the raw data point title and a specific addition.
  • E-mails on comparative value overruns are sent in the language of the recipient.
  • Using tQuantileEx of the formula toolbox, data points can now be analyzed with respect to relative or absolute quantiles. The function also offers the option to sort the values, as well as various calculation modes for interpolation and for calculating sums and averages.
